History


North Lauderdale, Florida was primarily farmland at the center of Broward County. A noted architect named Morris Lapidus used the opportunity of planning a new city. It would later be known as North Lauderdale. The architect became famous after the design and building of the 1950's "Miami Beach" styled resort hotel. He named the hotel Fontainebleau, which appeared in the James Bond film "Goldfinger" After the cities development it has grown tremendously being known as a community for families and social interaction. It has a small town feel though its population has been steadily increasing.
